About me

Hi, I’m Nicole Santos — a senior technical writer with a passion for turning complex technical information into clear, practical documentation that helps people get their work done. Over the past 15+ years, I’ve worked with product teams, engineers, and support organizations to create documentation that makes sophisticated technology easier to understand and use.

Currently, I’m a Senior Technical Writer at WatchGuard Technologies, where I develop documentation for cloud and endpoint security products used by both enterprise and SMB customers. My work includes help systems, setup and integration guides, knowledge base articles, and release documentation that support customers throughout the entire product lifecycle. I collaborate closely with engineering, UX, product management, and support teams to translate complex security features into clear, accurate, and user-focused content.

Throughout my career, I’ve enjoyed working at the intersection of technology, communication, and user experience. My approach to documentation focuses on clarity, structure, and usability — ensuring that content not only explains how something works but helps users succeed quickly.

I’m experienced with a wide range of authoring tools including Oxygen, Adobe Acrobat, MadCap Flare, XMetaL, Confluence, and SharePoint. I have worked in collaborative Agile environments and am very familiar with the SDLC. Tool experience includes Jira and version control systems such as Git, Perforce, and SVN.

When I’m not writing documentation, I enjoy working out, ballroom dancing, reading, and travelling. I recently completed two different certifications — one in AI technical writing and the other to teach English as a Foreign Language.
